We are mean

Do you ever feel like a mean parent-dressing up or posing your child (or pet, for that matter) for your own amusement at their own expense?
I do...
This has also been a big week for the Freetos. Brian was offered a job in Napa, so this summer, we will be moving to California. Though it will be far from Grandma and Grandpa Perry, we are pretty sure they won't mind to come visit, being that it is WINE country and all. And, it will be nice to have Grandma and Grandpa Freeto so close by!

Additionally, Ben tried rice cereal for the first time today-the next big step. He did pretty well with it, and seemed to enjoy eating everything-the cereal, the spoon, his bib, his hands...we have video and photographic evidence to prove it.

A Day of Beauty

Today, Ben got to have a playdate with one of his girlfriends Camilla and his friend Remy while I went to the dentist. He had a great time, I found out I have some cavities-ugh! In order to prep for his big day, though, he got a manicure (I clipped his fingernails, which is always an adventure!)

In preparation for his Baptism this weekend, he also endured his first haircut. While I don't think I am ready to give up my day job, I think it turned out "OK"...we'll see how it looks after a few days. At least he was a pretty good sport about it-and no bowls were involved (despite what Grandma Perry might think!!)

A new beginning

Yesterday was Inauguration Day and Ben wore his most patriotic outfit to celebrate. He loves those Baby Legs!

We had a great trip to Snowmass with my family. Ben got some great skiing in (or was that his daddy?!) and he enjoyed hanging out with his grandparents and aunts/uncles. While Grandma Perry has most of the really funny pics, here are a few. Also, I wanted to be sure to post some of the pics of Ben in the handmade bunting that once kept his daddy warm in Germany!

Naked Truth

Ben had his 4 month check-up last week. He weighed in at 14 pounds 10 ounces (45 %ile), is 25 inches long (50 %ile) and his head circumference is 43 cm (70 %ile - for that big, growing brain of his!) He is up to all sorts of new tricks-he now has rolled back to front (once, but he tries more and more each day), and likes to hold his own bottle while eating with Daddy. We had our first trip to the park today, and got to use a "real" swing with our friends Lili and Lois (who is 7 months old). Ben wasn't too into the duck pond, but in time I am sure he will love it. There is a great train at the Zoo near there, and once he is a little bigger, we will go for a fun ride.

We are off again - Ben is becoming quite the traveler. We are headed to Snowmass, Colorado for a ski vacation this weekend. Jen's whole family will be there, and will hopefully enjoy plenty of cry-free sleep (or at least some nice earplugs!)

Rockin the vintage tee

Delicious baby physique
More delicious rolls-will he forgive us?

I am not so sure about this swing thing
Wait-I love it!
Especially when I get to eat my hands and swinging with my friend Lois!
Check me out now-am I a big boy or what!

Happy New Year!

Ben had a great time last night on his first New Year's Eve. He had a date with his friend Camilla, and as you can see, though they both started out coy, they got much more comfortable as the night went on. Brian and I were just proud of ourselves to stay up until past midnight (which Ben didn't appreciate, so he then kept us up until 2am...) Oh well-a good time was had by all!

Happy New Year!

All this excitement made them need a nap prior to midnight!
