Once bitten, twice cried
OK, so I couldn't think of a good title for this post, so that's what you're stuck with. Benjamin had a very busy last week. He got his first tooth (left lower central incisor or "front tooth on the bottom") on Thursday, then his second (the right lower central incisor) late Friday/Saturday. He enjoyed Valentine's Day with a handsome new outfit, kisses for himself (he is awfully cute after all!!) and the University of Arizona vs. UCLA basketball game-in the front row. Though the Bruins didn't win (and played kind of poopily) Ben enjoyed himself nonetheless.
If you look really closely on the gum ridge, you can sort of see the teeth
Happy Valentine's Day ladies!
Working on sitting up too
Trying to block out the bad play-is this a commercial for Bose noise-cancelling headphones or what?!
Ben and Camilla really enjoying the game...
Am I cute or what! Who can resist a little smooch?

Fun new things and Adventures
Ben is now 5 1/2 months old and trying his best to sit up on his own (once placed in a "seated" position.) We work on it every day, and thus far have avoided major head injuries. He is starting to sleep better, though the 2 nights of "crying it out" were pretty tough on Mommy and Daddy...we are not counting our chickens just yet, but things seem to be looking up. He tried his first "sippy cup" this week, and gummed the tip more than anything. Maybe it was al the water running down his face-who knows?
About to fall over Mommy!
What is this cool water toy?
A little vomit with that sit-up?
Pretty big boy now
Today, Brian, Ben and I went to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the trip a lot. Lots of plant-life/cacti to ogle, and some desert wildlife (Pumas, birds, snakes, etc). We skipped the tarantula exhibit, as I do want to be able to sleep for the next 6 months that we are here. The last photo is a beautiful Arizona sunset from our apartment balcony.
Excited to get started on our museum tour
Funky looking cactus
Headed into the cave and "Historic Tucson" exhibit
Shindagger (I thought it was a funny name...)
Beautiful cactus
Little hummingbird in his (or her) nest
Big mountain lion in his "habitat" (that we weren't sure was secure enough to hold him)

Deserts are fun for Ben and Daddy!

Winter
So...if the groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter, that is OK with us. It is over 80 and sunny, cloud-free here in Arizona. Ben and I decided to engage in some winter activities today-we went to the park and tried out the pool. He really loved the pool-was kicking around and eating his floatie.
Getting ready for the pool in my hot swimtrunks
This isn't so bad-sunshine, heated pool...
