Bummer!

Well...we didn't win the HGTV Dream Home. They must have gotten lost on the way to our apartment and ended up in Lakeland, Florida. I must say, the winners didn't seem as excited as we surely would have been! Maybe I am just a sore loser - oh well. We did have a great Sunday though-Ben went to his first Cubs game (and they dominated the Diamondbacks!)

Getting psyched up-GO CUBS GO!

Arriving at the gate with Mommy

Are these great seats or what?! Go Cubbies!!

Ben is also feeling very grown up these days-he believes he has mastered eating and sitting (see below) and is excited for the next adventures to come. He gets up on his hands and knees now and rocks like he is getting ready to crawl...he can get quite far "scooting", though his only direction currently is backward. I am sure that will change soon-too soon!

Gimme that spoon, Mommy!

I can sit tall and hold 2 toys now!

In like a lamb

March has been great thus far in Tucson. Unseasonably warm and mild weather has been a welcome change from the winter last year with 100+ inches of snow. Ben continues to make friends everywhere we go-especially at the grocery store! We continue to go to story time at the library and have made some new friends there. We are still walking and visiting the parks around Tucson. He is now sitting on his own, enjoying vegetables in the evenings and cereal in the mornings, and he continues to try to communicate with us (lots of Bla bla and mmmmmma thus far, accompanied with gurgling and squealing and frequent bouts of laughter.)

Some of our recent adventures...

Trying to enjoy some beer at the Diamondbacks baseball game (spring training)

I can read!

Dreaming of a Hilton Head vacation, Salty Dog cafe...oops, I am falling over!

GO CUBS GO! Cubs versus Diamondbacks today.

We are excited to win the HGTV Dream House tonight...keep your fingers crossed for us!

6 months old!

Ben is now 6 months old and has been very busy (hence the lateness of the blog post-sorry!) He has his 2 teeth, and EVERYTHING goes in his mouth now. Those teeth are sharp too so watch out! He is talking more than ever-babbling more with bababa, mamama (I am pretty sure he already calls me Mama-OK, it is nonspecific, but fun to think about) He rolls all the time, and has begun propping himself up on his hands and knees. He is not crawling just yet, but does scoot backwards frequently-we are going to have to start thinking more about childproofing. Ben has been eating cereal, tried zucchini for the last week and (I am sure) is looking forward to squash tonight. He has been going to the daycare at our gym a couple times a week for a change of pace and so I can get in a workout here and there.

We have been hanging out with some old friends (Remy and Camilla) and some new friends (Ty and Hugo) and have been continuing to explore new areas of Tucson. The weather has been beautiful (80s and sunny-don't hate us!) which helps a lot.

My parents were just in town for a visit and we had a great time. Ben gets to Skype with them frequently, so he recognizes them and was able to enjoy their visit. Grandma took lots of pictures...see below.

Hope you are all well-many of you in the snowy, cold NE. Feel free to visit-you really can't beat the weather here! Ben's 6 month check-up is this Friday, so we will have updated "stats" for you after our visit with his pediatrician.

Toes in my mouth-my new favorite trick!

Ben turned 6 months, Grandma, 6 decades-birthdays all around!

Working on sitting...and chewing...

Hey ladies-this is my crib...

Body by baby (and breastmilk).

We are a MAC family after all! And trust me-with solid food these are much worse!!

Grown up and very handsome

Not always happy, especially when people could be holding me

But now I can stand in this thing without that big textbook, and enjoy my time in here for the most part!
